REWE Digital · EFT payment terminal integration

Project Manager (Business Engineer), Consultant

  • Integration responsibility: embedding EFT payment terminals (CCV A35) into the checkout of REWE Group’s German stores; later target scope around 40,000 tills across more than 7,000 stores
  • Piloting (ongoing): launch in five stores with nine terminals (attended tills and SCO); issue triage and rollout preparation
  • Cashback feature: technical support (till, terminal) for introducing Visa and Mastercard cashback at REWE, PENNY and TOOM
  • Payment compliance: support in selecting the PCI certification standard to apply going forward (DSS or P2PE)

Drugstore retail · SOA migration of an international POS system

Project Manager (agile), Consultant

  • Result: SOA migration rolled out to all 13 European country organisations; rollout steering and overall responsibility; 10 countries fully accepted at project handover
  • Architecture effect: replacing the monolithic POS-server legacy with individually deployable and testable services
  • Role: deputy project lead (team of around 15), product owner of a dedicated subteam (around 5)
  • Design workshops: preparation and moderation; developing the solutions for the client-server to SOA transition

  • Result: new POS system selected and commissioned in a structured process; owned and coordinated the completion of requirements and functional specifications
  • Evaluation: defined and ran the selection process; thorough market research; shortlist of potential vendors
  • Contract phase: support in price and contract negotiations, including analysis of offers and contracts
  • GoBD process documentation of the legacy system accepted by the tax authority

  • Result: foundation for the subsequent POS system selection; SAP CAR/OPP anchored as a requirement for the POS vendor

  • Target/actual comparison: captured deviations between the current architecture and the omni-channel target picture
  • Decision paper: presented to the management board
